Project Zaz, as its name implies, was evidence of a sense of wanderlust, the starting point for developing the Zaz Festival. Curator Yaron David brought together a group of artists who had been performing together for years on the Performance Platform during monthly activities and events. He suggested they explore a work process in the changing and unexpected dynamics of various public spaces and geographic locations. In this process, including an ongoing workshop and several additional events, artists set out on a physical and mental experience, each finding their own interpretation for what they underwent. The results were presented in video performance works or real-time performances. This group work prepared the ground for an art project in a festival defined at the core as a center for dynamism and motion.
